Default Aftercast delay

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Aftercast_delay

The official word is .75 sec delay, except 1.75 for PBAoE.

That doesn't feel right from my experience. In particular, I tend to agree with those who think there's no difference between PBAoE and other spells.

What do you guys think?

(I'm posting it here because elementalists are the ones with PBAoE and also the ones with some major 0-recharge-time spells. Yes, Virginia, Stone Daggers is a major spell.)

No, PBAoE spells have a stupidly long aftercast. Just to punish the few brave elementalist builds that go into melee range.

Well starburst had a very short aftercast when it first came out, i dont know if its been fixed now, but that was one of the reasons it was good.

But the aftercast is justified, if there was no aftercast on these spells then people could get single person spikes off.

Starburst has a small aftercast because it is a targeted touch AoE, not PBAoE

It is not justified, to put it into perspective you can almost cast a fireball by the time you stop standing still. It's far too long. Fast casting does reduce aftercast, which is one of it's strengths.

Add into the fact that gylph of sacrifice DOES NOT reduce aftercast time at all makes it completely pointless to use it with PBAoE spells (It used to until some nerf patch a while ago that changed "instant cast" to mean 1/16 second, it does make a different as you can no longer run towards someone and shoot off a fireball at the same time).

The aftercast is not justified on spells that start at greater than 1s cast time. This kind of logic you displayed here, is what caused the inital no delay between interupt skills that rangers possessed for a period of time. In the short timeframe that the spells aftercast time exists, phsyical damage dealers can fit in an entire another attack skill before the caster can do anything.

The only place where after cast time is actually "balanced", is with monk skills exclusivly.
